Position Summary


As an R&D Trainee – Hands-on IoT developer in R&D environment, you will be conceptualizing, prototyping, and evaluating innovative, IoT enabled features and functionalities for future Nespresso coffee machines and accessories, and contribute to the definition of next generation digitally powered consumer experiences.

A Day in the Life of a R&D Trainee – Hands-on IoT developer in R&D environment

  • Research technology trends, electronic components, and innovative software solutions
  • Design and implement hardware and software components for embedded systems from requirements to working prototypes
  • Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of the developed systems
  • Assess third party and open-source hardware and software components

What will make you successful

  • Currently enrolled in a university program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Microengineering or related field
  • Fluent in C/C++, Python, Java, or other programming languages
  • Excellent knowledge of embedded hardware and firmware development and troubleshooting
  • Experience in development of smartphone applications (iOS & Android)
  • Familiar with wireless protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, NFC, etc.) and IoT technologies
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about Machine Learning techniques (Voice recognition, Image recognition, etc.)
  • Good communication skills, ability to synthetize, consolidate and present complex information to non-technical audiences
